Our expert hygienist will provide a thorough oral cancer and periodontal (gum disease) screening. Gentle cleanings are customized to patients needs identified within these screenings.
Dr. Call will provide an examination for dental caries (decay) and present recommendations if dental treatment is needed.
We recommend parents schedule their two year old children for an initial fun visit. Two year olds will be introduced to dental equipment, screened for caries (decay), and provided a fluoride varnish treatment.
Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral found in water (not in Pocatello) and many foods such as spinach, baked potatoes, and pickles. Scientific studies have identified fluoride as a safe effective means to replenish minerals stripped from teeth over the course of everyday life.
Topical fluoride is applied to the tooth surface according to ADA recommendations and patient’s caries (decay) risk.
Sealants are a thin, plastic coating painted on chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars and premolars) to help prevent tooth decay. The chewing surfaces of back teeth have many depressions and grooves, which make them more susceptible to decay. Sealants protect these surfaces by providing a protective shield over the enamel.
Preventative care is the primary focus of our practice. We can provide you with tips and information that can greatly improve your family’s oral health and prevent serious dental emergencies. We will work with you to provide dental hygiene instructions that will help maintain good oral health at home.
X-rays allow us to assess the health of your teeth and supportive structures (bone and periodontal ligaments). Digital panoramic, bitewing, and periapical x-rays are utilized in our office. Digital x-rays use up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. The frequency and type of x-rays used are determined by the American Dental Association (ADA) recommendations and patient needs.
